Chapter 3 of Thomas Sowell's book, Black Rednecks and White Liberals, examines the historical practice of slavery in depth. In this audio book excerpt, we learn that black people were not the exclusive victims of slavery, that blacks practiced slavery among their own people long before the white man showed up, that millions of white people suffered as slaves, that slavery was practiced by other non-whites, such as with the North and South American tribes before the white man arrived. In addition, slavery is still practiced in many black African countries TODAY, but we hear no outrage about that. Why not? Was it only evil when white people practiced it?
